Cutting edge

Pain in the feet, knees, legs, or back requires a specific diagnosis and a suitable treatment. Through a biomechanical assessment, the podiatrist performs a complete assessment of the feet, the lower limbs, the posture, and the range of motion. That way, they can detect and localize the musculoskeletal disorders and determine a suitable treatment. They may recommend wearing plantar orthotics to rebalance the hyperpressure points under the foot, especially in the following cases:

  • Pain due to corns on the feet or a deformation of the big toe.
  • Flat feet or high arches.
  • Difference in leg height.
  • Plantar fasciitis.
  • For athletes with weaknesses in their feet, wearing orthotics helps them improve the quality of their movements, fatigue their muscles less, and increase their endurance.

Relieve your feet with

custom plantar orthotics

The podiatrist studies the medical history, collects as much data as possible, and conducts a biomedical and postural assessment (and possibly takes X-rays) to paint a complete portrait of your condition. If they come to the conclusion that you should wear plantar orthotics, they make a mould of your feet to take your impressions in three dimensions in order to manufacture podiatric orthotics to the exact measurements of your feet. The podiatrist makes the prescription and conducts tests with you and makes the necessary adjustments right at PiedRéseau Villeray Podiatric Clinic. The orthotics are therefore perfectly tailored to your morphology and help you relieve pain, improve your athletic performance, and prevent potential injuries.
